Paintbrush flowers can be found all over the US, from mountainous regions to wetlands. They rely on a semi-parasitic relationship to thrive in their chosen environment, which I find fascinating. These have long been some of my favorite wildflowers, I love how whimsical they look when blowing in the breeze.
